Allen was once the United States karate champion, until he was defeated by Ken in the first fight of a tournament.
After the fight, Ken reassured this wise-cracking southerner that he was still a big fish in a little pond, and that he
needed to move on to something bigger. Allen took Ken's advice, and trained in the hopes of entering the World Warriors
tournament. When he and Ken met again, it was obvious that Allen's training had paid off. Ken was surprised by Allen's
strength, and although he won, it took nearly all his power to do so. Allen was satisfied that he had proved himself to be
one of the strongest fighters in the world.
