Bobby Drake discovered at an early age that he had the power to
form ice from the moisture in the air. Attempting to keep mutant power
hidden from his classmates, he nonetheless attracted the attention of
Charles Xavier, who invited Drake to attend his Institute for Higher
Learning. The students there were all mutants, and they learned to use
their powers to safely defend themselves and others. Xavier formed the
X-Men to protect his dream of peaceful human-mutant coexistance, and Bobby
(aka Iceman) was the youngest member. He left the group for a time to
pursue a college degree, but has since returned to aid the X-Men any way
he can.
